Content Use Policy
Space Telescope Live is distributed under a GNU Version 3 General Public License (GNU V3 GPL), which requires attribution and excludes redistributing or repurposing for commercial use. Credit for Space Telescope Live should be attributed to NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, and CDS.
Public outreach content developed by the Space Telescope Science Institute, including the text and still graphics on this site, is in the public domain and free to use for any purpose. However, the sky map portion of Space Telescope Live uses Aladin, which was developed by the Strasbourg astronomical Data Center (CDS) and distributed under a GNU V3 GPL. Because Space Telescope Live incorporates Aladin content, Space Telescope Live as a whole is not in the public domain, and instead falls under the more restrictive GNU license.
